PACIFIC SURF & TRAIL
A shared space for protecting surf, beaches, and trails along the Pacific Coast.
Pacific Surf & Trail exists to support the long-term health and public access of coastal environments. From surf breaks and beaches to trails and connected watersheds, these places are under increasing pressure from development, overuse, and short-term decision-making.
We focus on paying attention to what’s changing, sharing what we’re learning, and creating space for people and organizations who care about these places to find common ground.
What’s the problem, and how can we help?

Why This Matters?
Public coastal spaces don’t belong to any one group, but they are often shaped by decisions made quietly, quickly, or in isolation. When information is fragmented and people work separately, it becomes harder to protect what we share.
Pacific Surf & Trail is about slowing things down enough to see clearly while making it easier for knowledge, experience, and concern to move between communities.
What Happens Here.

We notice
We pay attention to changes affecting surf, beaches, trails, and access, whether positive or concerning, especially where development or large-scale projects may have lasting impact.

We share
We bring together observations, context, and perspectives from people who use these places and organizations already working to protect them.

We build understanding
Over time, shared awareness helps make cooperation possible across communities, disciplines, and efforts that don’t always connect
Who This Is For?
Pacific Surf & Trail is for people who use these places, love them, and want to see them protected, not just today but for future generations.
It’s also for organizations, advocates, and groups who care about similar issues and are looking for better ways to understand what’s happening beyond their own lanes.

An Open Door.
If you’re noticing changes, pressure, or threats to public coastal spaces, we want to hear from you.
